Who is WONS

WONS is a progressive organisation, not afraid to redirect its services or to add new services to its portfolio based on the results of continual evaluation of the needs of the communities it serves and the requirements of its funders.

WONS is committed to culturally diverse, quality, and affordable service provision. It is an organisation with 19 years experience working with communities and health professionals across the Auckland region.

WONS has high visibility and credibility for its work with high needs women and their family / whanau. To effect this work with Maori, Pacific, and new migrant and refugee women, WONS has developed and maintained effective health promotion strategies; interactive networks and productive working relationships with a wide range of government, non government, ethnic specific, private, and voluntary organisations.

Over its history WONS has earned a reputation with GP's for competent, quality, and reliable health professional training and women's health care. WONS has regular slots on some Primary Health Care Organisations (PHO's) continuing education programmes for facilitating 'cervical screening updates' and 'PHO recall and screening support' for GP's and Practice Nurses.

The Vaccinator's Training Course has been a corner stone for WONS training with the primary health care nursing work force. WONS has a track record of enabling women to receive specific health care from WONS while still maintaining a good relationship with their GP.

WONS is a New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) accredited training organisation. WONS is committed to continuous quality improvement and has rigorous quality improvement processes in place as attested to by Auckland District Health Board, Ministry of Health and NZQA audits. it is recognised as a provider of quality vaccinator and women’s health training for health professionals.
